Jessie’s background includes developing comprehensive elite rider development/training programs as well as competition preparation specific to dressage.
Carol Newington 
Equestrian Office Manager
BHS Certified Coach
Carol was trained in England and holds British Horse Society Assistant Instructor certification. With over 38 years of experience with students at the beginner, junior and intermediate Event levels, Carol brings a wealth of knowledge to the operational aspects of the Equestrian Program at QMS.
In addition to making sure the program operates successfully, Carol organizes horse shows and riding opportunities for Summer Program participants.
Cheryl Keith
Head Coach EC Level II
- Hunter/Jumper
Born and raised on Vancouver Island, Cheryl Keith has a distinguished background in all aspects of equine study. In 2000 Cheryl came to QMS bringing her broad knowledge and experience in the Hunter Jumper disciplines. Under Cheryl’s guidance, the QMS Equestrian Team continues to dominate at competition’s throughout Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland, winning many Championships.
Cheryl coaches riders in all divisions from green hunter and jumpers to the Grand Prix level.
Sarah Mellings
Coach EC Level 1
- Hunter/Jumper/Eventing
Equine Sciences Teacher
Sarah Mellings has many years of experience as a Barn Manager and Coach in both the Hunter/Jumper and Eventing disciplines. She is also certified in Equine Dentistry. She coaches the intermediate students at QMS in addition to teaching the Equine Sciences class.
Sarah also coordinates the Equine Canada Rider Level Certification Program. This nationally recognized program promotes a continuous and progressive path of learning towards safe and knowledgeable horsemanship.
Nicola (Nikki) Buston
Coach EC Level 1 -
Hunter/Jumper/Equitation
Nikki was born and raised on Vancouver Island and is the newest addition to the QMS Coaching team. She has ridden and competed in the Hunter/Jumper disciplines for over 15 years and trained with QMS Head Coach, Cheryl Keith for 8 years. In addition to competing, Nikki has studied Equine Massage Therapy and rides and trains young horses in her spare time.
Nikki will be heading to Europe for the summer of 2012 to continue her equestrian education by working and training with top notch trainers. We look forward to hearing about Nikki's adventures upon her return for the 2012/13 school year.
