Jessie Fraser
Equestrian Program Director
a program of similar budget size and larger ridership compared to our own riding program. As Executive Director, Jessie built the program to 250 riders; 240 regular volunteers, nine regular staff and an annual budget of $.5 million. After deciding to join her mother on the Island, Jessie became a consultant for the Therapeutic Riding Program in Courtenay, working with them on organizational and growth issues.
Jessie is well known in the Riding Community and comes highly recommended by everyone who has worked with her. Jessie has been the Director of the QMS Equestrian Program since December 2007 and is the Head Coach of the Dressage Program.
Carol Newington 
Equestrian Office Manager
Carol was trained in England and holds British Horse Society Assistant Instructor certification. With over 38 years of experience with students at the beginner, junior and intermediate Event levels, Carol brings a wealth of knowledge to the operational aspects of the Equestrian Program at QMS.
In addition to making sure the program operates successfully, Carol organizes horse shows and riding opportunities for Summer Program participants.
Cheryl Keith
Head Coach EC Level II
Born and raised on Vancouver Island, Cheryl has a distinguished background in all aspects of equine study. In 2000 Cheryl came to QMS bringing her broad knowledge and experience in the Hunter/ Jumper discipline. Cheryl's coaching skills contribute to the continued success of our riders.
In addition to holding Equine Canada Level 2 Certification and coaching riders at QMS, Cheryl continues to compete successfully throughout the Pacific Northwest, British Columbia and Alberta. She rides a variety of horses in all divisions from green hunter and jumpers to the Grand Prix level.
Sarah Mellings
Coach EC level 1
Sarah grew up riding in the Hunter/Jumper dicipline in Kamloops B.C. She has been a working student for three-day event olympians at Dreamcrest farm in Ontario, as well as working at one of the top Hunter/Jumper/Equitation sales barns on the East Coast; Longreen Farm in New York. Most recently Sarah had been coaching at one of the most successful Hunter show barns in the Pacific Northwest, Foxstone Stables.
Sarah holds her NCCP Level II coaching and is working towards her EC Level II Hunter/Jumper certificate. She coaches regular riding lessons, teaches Equine Science in the classroom and conducts jumping clinics at various facilities on Vancouver Island. Sarah joined the QMS coaching and teaching staff in the fall of 2008.
