Alumnae Message Board

We are the past link of the QMS chain of Past, Present and Future - better known as the "Old Girls"

We remember when there was no Chapel, no tennis courts, no swimming pool, no "new" school, no transistor radios and no computers.  We remember girdles worn at the hipline; "No Talking" upstairs; collecting scrap for the War Effort and pop bottles for tennis courts; selling (and buying) Miss Denny's bread for the building fund; clearing our much loved woods for the "new " school and a throusand mad, sad and hilarious events of the days "when we went to QMS".  We recall the terror of being called to NCD's office and the agony of Caesar's Wars with Gug, thinking of both of them with deep affection.

Every student who has attended QMS and wished to join us is a member of the Old Girls'.  Some of us remember to pay our annual membership dues and some do not, but most of us try to return to QMS for the Annual Old Girls' Weekend.  It is a debatable point who derives the most amusement from the Old Girls' Egg and Spoon Race - the spectators or ourselves but one thing is certain - the majority of us will never grace a forward line (First XI or Grasshoppers) again.

Like all other alumni/ae, we sell raffle tickets (some of us are actually allergic to them now), hold bazaars, "Bring and Buy's and bake sales and plead for money for the old school.

We provide an annual memorial Bursary for a student at the school who would not otherwise be able to continue due to financial diffuculty.  Raffle ticket anyone???

We, the Past, are determied that there will always be a Present and Future to become the Past.
