How to Apply

Applications for the 2024–2025 school year are now open! Please select the grade you are interested in applying for below:

Preschool and Junior Kindergarten

1. Application Form & Required Documents
All Preschool and Junior Kindergarten applicants must submit their application through our Admissions Portal and pay the $250 application fee.
Note: application is only considered complete when application fee is paid. 

After the application is complete the following items must be uploaded to their online checklist: 

  • Birth Certificate 
  • Citizenship Document (if applicable) 
  • Student Photo

2. Meet & Greet
In Spring 2024, all Preschool and Junior Kindergarten families will be invited for a Meet and Greet at QMS for the applicant and their family to meet the ECE (Early Childhood Education) team and their class.
 

3. Decision
Following the Meet and Greet, the Admissions Committee (comprised of ECE, Junior School, and Admissions Staff) will meet to review applicants. 

Applicants will receive one of the following admissions decisions: Offer, Waitpool, or Declined. Those that are declined are invited to apply for the following admissions year. 

Kindergarten to Grade 7

1. Application Form
All applicants for Kindergarten to Grade 7 must submit their application through our Admissions Portal and pay the $250 application fee.
Note: application is only considered complete when application fee is paid. 

After the application is complete the following items must be uploaded to their online checklist: 

  • Birth Certificate 
  • Citizenship Document (if applicable) 
  • Student Photo 
  • Report Card 
  • Teacher Reference Form 
  • IEP or Psychoeducational Assessment (required if applicable) 

2. Assessment/Shadow Day
Once the checklist items outlined above in Step 1 are complete, admissions will contact the families regarding an assessment or shadow day.
 

Kindergarten and Grade 1 applicants will be invited for a one-to-one assessment with one of our Junior School team.

Grades 2 to 7 applicants will be invited to an on-campus shadow day. This will be a full school day experience where the applicant will have a chance to experience a day in the QMS Junior School, and our teachers will have an opportunity to see the applicant with their potential cohort.   

3. Parent/Family Interview
Once the checklist items outlined above in Step 1 are complete, admissions will contact the families to arrange a parent or family interview to give the Admissions Team a chance to get to know the applicants family.
 

Kindergarten to Grade 3 applicant families will be contacted for a parent interview. This interview is for the parents of the applicants only, and will be 45 minutes in length. 

Grade 4 to 7 applicant families will be contacted for a family interview. This interview is for the parents and students together, and will be 45 minutes to an hour in length.  

4. English Assessment (required for Grade 6 & 7 International applicants)
For all international applicants, whose first language is not English, we require one of the following supplementary English assessments:
 

  • Vital English 
  • IALTS 
  • TOEFL  

5. Decision
Following the interview and assessment/shadow day, the Admissions Committee (comprised of Junior School and Admissions Staff) will meet to review applicants.

Grades 8 to 12

1. Application Form
All applicants for Kindergarten to Grade 7 must submit their application through our Admissions Portal and pay the $250 application fee.
Note: application is only considered complete when application fee is paid. 

After the application is complete the following items must be uploaded to their online checklist: 

  • Birth Certificate 
  • Citizenship Document (if applicable) 
  • Student Photo 
  • Report Card 
  • Teacher Reference Form 
  • IEP or Psychoeducational Assessment (required if applicable) 
  • Custodial Agreement (required if applicable)

2. SSAT (optional)
This year we are inviting our applicants to write the SSAT. While it is not required for our 2024-2025 applicants, we will consider it amongst all application components as part of a holistic admissions picture.

3. English Assessment (required for International)
For all international applicants, whose first language is not English, we require one of the following supplementary English assessments:
 

  • Vital English 
  • IALTS 
  • TOEFL  

4. Interview
Once all items in Step 1 are complete, applicant families will be contacted for an interview with the Admissions Team. This interview is for the students only, and will be 30 to 45 minutes in length.
 

5. Decision
Following the interview and completion of application requirements, the Admissions Committee (comprised of Senior School and Admissions Staff) will meet to review applicants.
  

Applicants will receive one of the following admissions decisions: Offer, Waitpool, or Declined. Those that are declined are invited to apply for the following admissions year.
